PRIVATE LESSONS
Scott Kettner is now accepting a limited number of serious drumset and/or Brazilian percussion students. Scott Kettner is the Artistic Director and founder of The Nation Beat and Maracatu NY.

Drumset classes include:
-Jazz styles and technique
-Brazilian Rhythms for drumset
-Improvisational techniques
-Sight reading

Brazilian Percussion Classes include:
-Pandeiro (Brazilian tamborine): technique, grooves and styles
-Maracatu Percussion
-Zabumba (bass drum used in Forro)

Students will be encouraged to read music, develop their own voice on their instrument, compose and improvise.

Scott's past students have been accepted to Laguardia Performing Arts High School, Berkley College of Music, CAL Arts and have traveled to Recife, Brazil to furthur study the traditional rhythms of Maracatu and Forro.
