I couldn't be more excited about the new Nation Beat CD entitled "Growing Stone" which will be availbe online and in stores on September 13th on the Barbes Record Label. I had a blast recording and producing this CD and got to invite some great friends and amazing musicians to perform on the CD.

I also had a blast coming up with some new drum grooves for some of the songs.  I'll write an in depth article really soon about some of these grooves...but to give you a quick idea: I morphed Zigaboo's "Cissy Strut" groove into a Baião/Forró on the track called Bicu de Lambu and I also morphed James Black's groove on "Hook and Sling" into a maracatu!  I had a blast coming up with these ideas and I hope you enjoy listening and checking them out.  You can catch a sneak preview of the CD on: www.nationbeat.com
